Options at the end of your lease

What to consider as you near the end of your contract

Updated over a week ago

My MOT is due but my contract's coming to an end. What should I do?

If the vehicle’s MOT and/or service is due within a month of collection then it will need to be completed before the vehicle is collected.

If you’re a salary sacrifice customer

I want to end my lease early, what do I need to know?

For information on how to manage your lease during changes to your circumstances, please see our 'Change of Circumstances' page.

What happens towards the end of my contract?

We’ll start reaching out at least 9 months before your contract ends to ask what preference you have for the end of your lease. If you’re interested in renewing your contract we can arrange to keep your current contract running until your new vehicle is ready for delivery.

Your end of lease options are:

  1. Rolling extension: If you’re renewing your contract by leasing a new vehicle with us, we can extend your current lease on the existing terms until your new vehicle is ready for delivery.

  2. Formal extension: Extending your lease for a fixed amount of time on your existing terms.

  3. Returning the vehicle: if you decide to end your EV journey with us we’ll be in touch just over a month before your contract end date to arrange collection. See ‘Arranging your collection’ for more details.

  4. Purchasing the vehicle at the end of your lease: In some circumstances we may allow you to purchase the vehicle at the end of your lease. Please get in touch with us via the Driverline to discuss this option.

If you’re an Intelligent EV customer

What happens towards the end of my contract?

OEV will be in touch when it’s time to collect your lease, to discuss your collection and start thinking about getting a new contract with us.

We currently do not offer lease extensions or options to purchase the car at the end of your lease. Read more about how we can support with changing circumstances while you're on the road.
