Choosing the right quote for you

We can’t tell you what’s right for you, but some key things to consider are:

  • How long you’d like your lease to last

  • How far you’d like to drive per year

  • How much you want to pay each month

On our cars page, you can find information on charging times, specifications, tech, and range to help you find the right fit for you.

It’s important to make sure you’re happy with your quote before proceeding, to limit credit checks, and prevent any cancellation fees later down the line.

Can I sign the contract if my name isn't on the quote or credit check?

The person who signs the contract must be the same person named on your quote and the one who completed the credit check. This is essential to ensure your policy is valid. While you can add other drivers to your insurance, the main leaseholder's name must be consistent across all key documents.

How long is my quote valid for?

Your quote is valid for 14 days, so we’ll ask you to complete your credit application within that window. Once that’s completed, you’ll have seven days to sign your contract.

Please note, if your order is for an approved used deal, your contract will only be valid for two days due to limited stock availability.

What contracts will I receive?

We send you three documents to review:

  1. Pre-contract information - this summarises your contract

  2. Hire agreement - this is your contract and hire schedule, which provides a detailed breakdown of the terms you’re signing

  3. Cancellation notice - you won’t need to sign this unless you cancel, but you should still review it with your contracts

We’ll ask you to sign the pre-contract information and hire agreement within seven days of a successful credit application. If you have any questions about your contract, please get in touch with us so we can support you.

What if I change my mind after signing the contract?

We get it – sometimes things change. You have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days of signing, which we call your ‘cooling off period’. After that time, you can still cancel your order, but cancellation fees may apply.

Can I make changes to my lease terms once I’ve signed my contract?

When you request a quote for an EV you like, it’s important to make sure your chosen contract length and mileage work for your needs.

If you do want to change your term or mileage, you can do so – but we will need to issue a new quote, and extra charges are likely to incur. You’re not able to amend your contract once you’re on the road - so getting it right from the start is important.

What if I think my mileage will be more than the amount in my lease?

Before requesting a quote, you should carefully estimate the annual mileage you’re likely to need over the course of your lease. Any excess mileage calculated at the end of your lease will be charged at the excess mileage rate outlined in your Hire Agreement.

My quote has a charger included, why can’t I see that in the contract?

If your quote includes a charger or charging credit, this is part of a separate promotional deal offered alongside your lease, not part of the vehicle itself. Your lease and monthly payments cover the car only.

Don’t worry - this doesn’t mean you’ll pay for your charger or face fees that you've not been told about. It just means that chargers, charging credit, or extra miles have their own terms and conditions, separate from your vehicle contract.

Can I end my contract early?

After your car has been delivered, you have officially entered the contractual commitment of your lease (i.e. three years).

However, we understand that sometimes circumstances change. If this is the case, and you need to leave your contract early, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

We often refer to this as Early Termination, and it will incur fees.

Are there any cancellation fees if I terminate my contract early?

As part of your contract, you’ll have to pay a charge - 50% of the remaining finance rentals. You’ll also be required to pay an administration fee, as well as be liable for any charges (excess mileage, damage).

We ask for 45 days' notice to end a contract. If you're leaving with less than that, please reach out to us as soon as possible to discuss.

You’ll be charged up to 45 days from when you gave notice, or when Octopus Electric Vehicles collects the car from you - whichever happens last.
