What to expect on delivery day

Here’s everything you can expect from delivery day, and ways to ensure it goes smoothly.

How your car will be delivered

Your car may be delivered in a few different ways - most commonly:

  • On a lorry or low loader, where it’s transported on a carrier and driven straight off the truck when it arrives

  • Driven directly to your address, by a delivery agent from the dealership.

We won’t always know which delivery method your dealer is using, so we recommend asking them to confirm this when you arrange your delivery date.

On the day of delivery, the team will usually call you about an hour before they arrive.

Your handover checklist

  1. Inspect the vehicle while the delivery agent is present. Check the car’s exterior and interior for any marks, scratches or scuffs.

  2. Report any damage straight away. If you notice anything, ask the delivery agent to record it on the proof of delivery form before you sign. We also suggest taking your own photo of any damage found, just for peace of mind.

  3. Only sign once you’re happy. By signing the proof of delivery, you’re confirming that you’ve checked the car thoroughly, you’re satisfied with its condition, and there’s no damage unless it’s marked on the form.

If something’s not right, or you notice something after signing the handover document, call us as soon as possible on 0203 389 5959 and we’ll be on hand to help.
